Suggestions for Eagle
Projects |
The following project ideas MAY BE acceptable as Eagle projects
depending on how they are ORGANIZED and the LEADERSHIP is presented This is not
a comprehensive list! It is just a place to start. Let your mind go and imagine
what could be done.
- Collect winter clothes/coats for a distribution center.
- Collect children's clothes for a distribution center.
- Conduct an orienteering/ski/soccer/baseball/basketball clinic for inner
city/local youth.
- Identify heritage trees in St. Paul and publish a booklet about them.
- Build a boat ramp at a local lake.
- Conduct a drive to completely clothe and furnish a house for a previously
homeless grandmother and 4 young grandchildren.
- Lead a group of high achieving students as tutors for low performing students
or those with learning disabilities.
- Lead effort to scrape, patch and paint large room / multiple hallways at a
church, community center, non-profit organization building.
- Lead effort to collect toys for youth affected by flood.
- Clean up trash/debris and build paths/benches/landscaping within a park/around
a lake/in a shallow pond/along a road
- Collect, properly retire and dispose of non-serviceable American flags.
- Organize a CPR training course, advertise, sign-up, arrange location, etc.
- Install smoke detectors for older needs people, raise funds to purchase
detectors/secure funds from municipality.
- Install entrance sign at a part/church/non-profit location with suitable
ground effects.
- Create and organize a Youth volunteer Action Project in multiple High
Schools/Jr. High Schools to carry out volunteer projects.
- Organize, prepare beds and plant flowers/trees for park/community
center/church.
- Build a retaining wall/patio area/outdoor furniture/indoor furniture for
church/community/etc.
- Conduct an eyeglass drive, glasses to be distributed in a third world country.
- Clean up a walking trail/path and put down wood chips.
- Build steps on a walking trail.
- Build a portion of a walking trail/entire walking trail.
- Plant trees in a park/open space.
- Paint church/community building.
- Paint house numbers on garages and rear entrances of homes for compliance with
city ordinances.
- Clear overhanging bushes and tree limbs from walking path/roadway in
park/trail.
- Construct shelving for church/school/community center/park building for
storage.
- Refinish tables/chairs/shelving for church/school/community center/park
building.
- Clean, repair, fill cracks, seal coat a parking lot at a
church/school/community center parking lot. Repaint parking lot stripes.
- Conduct a Bicycle Rodeo to promote bicycle safety and teach proper techniques
to use in hazardous situations.
- Provide a fingerprinting service for primary grade school children and give
the results to the parents.
- Conduct a child protection awareness campaign for the community, create forms
for recording children's' identification information, enter on floppy disks
and give to parents for their records.
- Build physical therapy equipment for a children's' hospital.
- Clean up, repair gravestones and restore graveyard.
- Write & publish the history of a community and provide teaching materials to 5
elementary schools.
- Conduct seat belt survey and stage accident prior to prom at a high school.
- Install a computer network at a high school.
- Build a handicapped ramp at a church.
- Create fire plans for 8 community churches.
- Clean and refurbish historical artifacts at a museum.
- Inventory and set up a database of items at a museum.
- Plan, conduct and clean up for a party for residents of a nursing home.
- Present a "Pet Fair" with information on health and general care of household
pets and information on regulations and ordinances such as leash laws.
- Build a small structure/shed/garage.
- Repair/move walls/install ceilings/install flooring for an existing building.
- Organize and conduct a community event. Clean up afterwards.
- Organize a "Neighborhood Watch". See it successfully through 6 months of
meetings.
- Organize and lead a seasons (half season) lawn care for an elderly, needy
person.
- Organize and lead a house painting for an elderly, needy person.
- Determine the need for specific information/documents, have it translated into
Hmong/Spanish/Vietnamese and distribute it to the appropriate people.
- Design and train a team to paint a mural on the wall of a local church
- Build an archery range at a local park.
Remember to look at the needs of an organization to find the possible Eagle
project.
Note: Not all good projects are good EAGLE Projects. It is really dependent on
the DEPTH OF PLANNING, ORGANIZATION AND LEADERSHIP required.
